A study of the ‘notorious’ South Oxhey, Herts. Somewhat indelibly linked with racism, the archetypal council estate and ignorance. This ongoing series examines the facade that masks the cliches.

Most of South Oxhey is now leasehold after occupants bought their homes from Three Rivers. So it’s not really a council estate, archetypal or otherwise, anymore.
Good pictures though.
That’s my point in a lot of ways, the views of the suburb are archaic. I certainly don’t want to come across as some sort of flaneur! I plan to expand this series as an English answer to Bill Owens work ‘Suburbs’.
Get down to the boxing club if you want some portraits, or the Ascend centre.
