The human race appears to rely on these objects to maintain 'healthy' communication. Once again proving our reliance on technology to live in the modern age.
A project for university that looked at the necessity of the ‘thing’, questioning whether society could function without them.
- There are over 1 billion televisions in use today. Modern society relies on them to educate, entertain and distract; ultimately reducing the need for human interaction.
- :ess than 1% of the worlds fresh water is readily accessible for human use. Despite this, around 13 gallons are needed per person for cleaning, cooking and consumption.
- Time is a fundamental quality, our dependence for science, transport, medicine, industry and education is absolute.
- Over 146,000 cords (128 cubic feet) of wood is needed to create the worlds daily supply of newspaper. Despite it’s relatively modest function, it is still a key form of modern communication.
